Portable appliances include any electrical item which has a flexible lead used to provide power, and extension leads. This includes both fixed and moveable items. The frequency of testing relates to how often that lead is flexed and the environment in which that item exists.

Safe@Work Test & Tag can provide the following services:-

  • Minor repairs (replacement plugs etc)

You are required to retain records to show your responsibilities for "Duty of Care" have been fulfilled. Safe@Work Test & Tag will provide sufficient information to fulfil these requirements in most cases. For more detail see Reporting.

Safe@Work Test & Tag is authorised to perform minor repairs on equipment to keep it in-service. We carry a stock of plugs and sockets, power boards etc to facilitate this. It may be cheaper than the downtime you experience before you can repair or replace the item yourself. Where you elect to have it repaired yourself, an item may need to be quarantined or removed from service until that repair is effected and the item retested.
